Senior Lauren Embree (Marco Island, Fla.) remained the top-ranked singles player in the country and the University of Florida women’s tennis team jumped one spot to No. 4 in the latest national women’s team rankings administered by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released today.

This is the second consecutive rankings period Embree has sat atop the national chart by the ITA, which provides singles and doubles rankings biweekly. Embree sports a 105-14 career singles record, including a 13-1 ledger this season, with a 106-20 all-time doubles record. Her 211 combined singles and doubles wins are tied for the 11th most in program history. She can crack the top-10 with two wins this weekend when the Gators (9-2, 2-1 SEC) play host to No. 12 Georgia on Friday at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis, where first-serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. and admission is free.

Joining Embree in the national singles rankings include junior Sofie Oyen (Belgium) at No. 14, junior Alexandra Cercone (Seminole, Fla.) at No. 55, freshman Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) at No. 89 and freshman Brianna Morgan (Beverly Hills, Calif.) at No. 96.

The Gator doubles team of Embree and Oyen checked in at No. 23.
