Fuller and Garcia Ranked Third in Country

ATHENS, Ga.—Georgia doubles tandem Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia improved to third in the country, headlining three doubles teams and four singles players in the latest rankings released Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Fuller and Garcia went 2-0 this weekend versus Ole Miss and Mississippi State. The duo also was victorious Tuesday afternoon, though that result was not taken into account in the latest rankings. On the season, the pair is 12-0.

Fuller and Lauren Herring are ranked No. 27. They are 12-5 this year, but have yet to play together in dual match season. Lilly Kimbell and Maho Kowase, who are 9-3 this year, are ranked No. 50.

Georgia is well-represented in the latest singles rankings. Highlighting the Bulldog contingent is sophomore Lauren Herring who improved two spots to seventh in the country. The Greenville, N.C. native is 27-4 this season, including 13-3 versus ranked opponents. Kowase is ranked No. 17. She is 26-7, including 8-2 in dual matches, and riding a four match winning streak.

Garcia is No. 77 in the latest rankings. The former SEC Freshman of the Week is 13-1 and the winner of eight singles matches in a row. Fuller stayed in the rankings at the No. 120 spot.

Georgia is ranked No. 12 in the latest team rankings. The Bulldogs beat No. 15 Notre Dame Tuesday, and will travel to take on No. 4 Florida and No. 32 South Carolina this weekend.
