HOUSTON, Tex.—The No. 33 University of Oregon men’s tennis team defeated the No. 53 Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islanders 4-1 Friday in Houston, Tex. at Rice University. The Ducks advance to 13-1 on the season, while the Islanders drop to 6-6. The match marked the first time the Ducks competed on outdoor courts this season.

“For the first outdoor match of the season, I was very pleased,” said head coach Nils Schyllander. “We fought our tails off, and it was a really solid battle. My hat goes off to Corpus Christi. They were very well coached and one of the hardest fighting teams I’ve ever seen. They really made us earn every single point out there.”
