WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 22nd-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team swept its final doubleheader of the season, defeating William & Mary 5-1 and Longwood 7-0 on Sunday at the Indoor Tennis Center.
The Demon Deacons improve to 11-3 heading into their final nonconference match of the season at VCU on March 12.
Wake Forest Takes Down William & Mary 5-2
Led by a strong performance by No. 37 Amogh Prabhakar and victories down the lineup, the Wake Forest men's tennis team earned a 5-1 win over William & Mary
Prabhakar defeated Anton Andersson of the Tribe, 6-4, 6-2 at the first singles position. The senior Deacon took a close first set, then notched an early break in the second set to put the first singles point on the board for Wake Forest.
At the third spot, Danny Kreyman added to the overall lead with a win over senior Adrian Vodislav of William & Mary (6-6). Kreyman took an early break and sprinted out to a big first set victory. Vodislav tied to mount a comeback early in the second set, but Kreyman earned a late break to take the match, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 123 David Hopkins clinched the match for Wake Forest with a three-set win at the second spot. Hopkins took the first set by a score of 6-3, but dropped the second set to Aaron Chaffee of the Tribe. The senior Demon Deacon closed out the match with a third set victory, taking the overall match, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
Sam Bloom gave Wake Forest another point with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Matt Waddell at the sixth singles position. Adam Lee won the first set at No. 5 by a score of 6-4, but the match was abandoned because the overall match had been decided.
Ben Hoogland of W&M earned the only point for the Tribe with a win over Wake Forest freshman Jon Ho. Both sets ended in tight tiebreakers, with Hoogland winning both of them. Hoogland defeated Ho by a score of 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (10-8).
The Deacons won two out of three doubles matches to take a close doubles point.
The second spot match between Kreyman and Lee of Wake Forest and John Banks and Waddell of W&M remained tight until the end, but the Deacons secured two late breaks to win 8-4.
At the first position, No. 55 Prabhakar and Hopkins broke Andersson and Chaffee of the Tribe late to take the match, and the doubles point, for the Deacons. The senior duo defeated Andersson and Chaffee by a score of 9-7.
Hoogland and Vodislav of W&M defeated Wake Forest freshmen Ho and Bloom by a score of 8-5. Ho and Bloom went down a break at 4-2 and were unable to mount a comeback.

Revamped Deacon Lineup Cruises Past Longwood 7-0
With two freshmen making their debut in the top six, Wake Forest swept Longwood 7-0 in the night cap.
Head coach Tony Bresky changed the Wake Forest lineup around to give some of the freshmen a chance to play against Longwood's best, and the rookies rose to the task, winning at the top two doubles and singles positions.
The Demon Deacons swept the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. Playing at the top doubles position for the first time, Sam Bloom and Jon Ho cruised past Giorgi Khmiadashvili and Daniel Elston 8-3.
Amogh Prabhakar and Adam Lee clinched the point at No. 3, topping James Fudge and Steed Johnson 8-2. Anthony Delcore and Morgan Mays completed the sweep at No. 2, taking down Edward Becker and Harry Kelleher 8-2.
No. 37 Prabhakar breezed through his match at No. 3 singles, downing Edward Becker 6-1, 6-1, and Kreyman blanked Kelleher 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. Adam Lee clinched the match for the Demon Deacons at No. 6, defeating Fudge 6-2, 6-1.
Jon Ho grinded out a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Steed Johnson at No. 4 singles to make the score 5-0.
Making their debuts in the top six for the Demon Deacons, freshmen Mays and Delcore closed out the sweep with wins at top two positions. Mays downed Giorgi Khiadashvili 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 and Delcore fought past Daniel Elston 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2
