SKILLMAN, NJ: Courtesy of the ITA (Mar. 19) -- After another flawless week of matches, the Virginia men and North Carolina women continued their streak of consecutive weeks on top of the ITA College Tennis Rankings. The Cavaliers posted four wins last week, all against former Top 20 teams as they improved to 11-0 on the season and remained at the No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings for the ninth straight week. North Carolina went 1-0 last week, picking up a 5-2 win against No. 20 Texas Tech. With the win, the Tar Heels distanced themselves from the pack, leading No. 2 Florida by a full 14 points.

Follow the Leader: For the men, following Virginia is (in order): UCLA, USC, Kentucky, Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Duke, Tennessee, and Oklahoma. On the women’s side, North Carolina is followed by Florida, Texas A&M, UCLA, Georgia, USC, Duke, Alabama, Michigan, and Miami (Florida).
Conference Count: Men’s Top 25: SEC – 8; ACC – 4; Big Ten & Pac-12 – 3; Big 12 – 2; Colonial Athletic Association, Conference USA, Ivy League, Missouri Valley, & WCC – 1. The SEC landed four men’s teams inside the Top 10 while the ACC and the Pac-12 each have two. Women’s Top 25: SEC – 6; ACC & Pac-12 – 5; Big Ten – 4; Big 12 – 2; Big East, Big West & Conference USA – 1. The SEC has also placed four women’s teams in the Top 10, along with three squads from the ACC and two from the Pac-12.
Double-Dip: A total of 13 schools have both their men’s and women’s programs ranked inside the Top 25. Duke, Georgia, UCLA, and USC find both their men’s and women’s teams inside the Top 10 this week.
