WACO, Texas - The 29th-ranked Baylor men's tennis team will be back in action as it hosts Louisiana-Lafayette (10-8) Thursday and Wichita State (10-3) Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center. Both matches are slated to begin at 3 p.m.
"We are excited for another opportunity to get better," head coach Matt Knoll said. "We are just trying to get one day better. Right now we are just focusing on Louisiana and hopefully we will play a good match."
The Bears are coming off a tough stretch of matches that included contests against four top-5 teams. BU was 1-3 in those matches. On the season, Baylor is 10-4 and 7-2 at home.
Baylor currently has four singles competitors listed in the latest ITA rankings. Julian Lenz, Patrick Pradella, Marko Krickovic and Mate Zsiga are ranked No. 49, 64, 97, and 98, respectively.
The Ragin' Cajuns enter the match after an upset win at home against No. 61 Samford.
Baylor leads the overall series with the Cajuns 9-5 with the last meeting in 2012 resulting in a Baylor victory.
Following Thursday's match, the Bears will host Wichita State. The Shockers have won four straight matches and beat UT Arlington 4-0 victory in their last time out.
Baylor is currently tied in the overall series against the Shockers at 2-2.
