Florida Wins the 2013 SEC Championship

SKILLMAN, NJ, Courtesy of the ITA: (April 23) -- For the first time in 11 weeks the ITA College Tennis Rankings will have a new pair of teams at the No. 1 spot as the UCLA men and Florida women took over as the top teams in the nation.  The Bruins are making their first appearance atop the men’s ranking since May 26, 2005 when they finished the year as NCAA champs while Florida is back on top of the women’s ranking after claiming their fourth consecutive SEC tournament title.

In the individual rankings, Virginia’s Alex Domijan reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the men’s singles rankings while Florida’s Lauren Embree enjoyed a sixth straight week as the nation’s top female player. Moving to doubles, Tennessee’s Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese took over the No. 1 ranking, making them the third team in as many weeks to claim the top spot.  For the women, Georgia’s Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia remained No. 1 for a second straight week.
