STANFORD, Calif.- Both Stanford tennis programs have qualified for the NCAA Tournament, with the women hosting first and second round action while the men open postseason play on the road for the first time since 2008.

All first and second round matches are played at campus sites. The final 16 teams square off at the NCAA Tennis Championships, hosted by the University of Illinois in Urbana, Ill., beginning Thursday, May 16. The national championship matches are set for Tuesday, May 21.

No. 12 Stanford (16-4, 8-2 Pac-12) will be making its 32nd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance when first round competition gets underway at campus sites next weekend. The Cardinal will host Miami (OH).

It's been another impressive season for Stanford, which has won five of its last six matches overall while finishing tied for third place in the ultra-competitive Pac-12. The Cardinal has now won the conference title outright or claimed at least a share of the hardware in all but two seasons since 1987.

Stanford has been ranked just outside the top-10 since peaking at No. 5 during the season's opening week. Checking in at No. 12 in the latest edition of the national ITA rankings, the Cardinal was awarded the No. 12 overall seed in the postseason draw.

Stanford is coming off a 4-3 loss to California back on April 19 in its most recent matchup, snapping a string of eight consecutive wins over the Golden Bears that also included a 6-1 home victory on March 2. The Cardinal, which has notched eight shutouts, also owns resume-boosting victories over Clemson, Texas, UCLA and Arizona State.

Taube Family Tennis Stadium will play host to NCAA first and second round competition on May 10-11. The schedule for the first and second round matches is as follows:
Friday, May 10 (First Round): No. 20 Rice vs. No. 62 Pepperdine - 11 a.m.
Friday, May 10 (First Round): No. 12 Stanford vs. Miami (OH) - 2 p.m.
Saturday, May 11 (Second Round): No. 20 Rice/No. 62 Pepperdine vs. No. 12 Stanford/Miami (OH) - 1 p.m.

All seats are general admission. Single-day tickets are $7 (adult) and $5 (student/youth/senior). Tickets are available starting on Monday, May 6, either in person, by calling 1-800-STANFORD or visiting www.gostanford.com. Phone orders will be available at will call. The first 30 students each day receive free admission.

Stanford owns a 123-16 record in the postseason since the NCAA Tournament went to its present format in 1982. During that time, Stanford has won 16 NCAA team titles, most recently capturing the 2010 crown with a 4-3 victory over Florida in Athens, Ga.
