AUSTIN, Texas – Big 12 champion Texas (17-10) will travel to Charlottesville, Va., to take on William & Mary (17-5) in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, May 11.

The Longhorns, who earned an automatic bid into the 64-team field, will take on the Tribe on May 11 at 9 a.m. ET at The University of Virginia’s Snyder Tennis Center. The Texas-William & Mary winner will meet the winner of the first-round match between 14th-seeded host Virginia and Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday, May 12.

Texas heads into the NCAA Championships with momentum on its side after claiming its ninth Big 12 tournament crown (April 28). The Longhorns opened with a 4-1 win against host Oklahoma before edging Big 12 regular season co-champion Texas Tech in the semifinals, 4-3. UT nailed down its second straight Big 12 Championship with a 4-0 win over Oklahoma State. Freshman Breaunna Addison was tabbed as the tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer.

Texas holds a 12-3 advantage all-time against William & Mary. The teams last met on March 8, 2012 in Austin, where the Horns dealt the Tribe a 5-1 defeat.

The two-time NCAA champion Longhorns are making their 31st consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. Texas reached the round of 16 at the 2012 NCAA Championship behind victories over Wichita State and Nebraska in Austin. UT fell to host Georgia in the round of 16.
