Four Texas A&M Individuals and Two Tandems in Final ITA Rankings

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M men’s tennis team, champions of the SEC Western Division, finished the season with four individuals and two doubles tandems ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) final national rankings. Sophomore Jeremy Efferding (# 23), freshman Shane Vinsant (#83), freshman Harry Adams (#95) and junior Junior Ore (#113) were the individual honorees for the Aggies while the All-American doubles team of Ore and sophomore Jackson Withrow (#7) to go along with the freshmen tandem of Adams and Vinsant (#28) were also featured in the rankings.

Efferding finished the season with a 22-12 overall record, including a 16-9 mark in dual matches. The Boca Raton native went 7-5 from the top singles position and was named to the NCAA individual championship field before bowing out in the first round. In addition, the sophomore finished as the second-ranked player in the Texas region.

Vinsant broke into the 20-win plateau in his first season in Aggieland, as well as led the team in victories with a 20-8 record in the spring. The Keller native posted a 16-8 mark from the No. 4 singles line. The freshman also finished as the sixth-ranked player in the Texas region.

Adams posted a 16-9 mark in dual matches, going 13-6 from the No. 3 line. The New Braunfels native was also ranked as the No. 10 individual in the Texas region.

Ore rounds out the ranked individuals for A&M with a 12-15 record. The Gaithersburg, Maryland, native also finished as the ninth-ranked individual in the Texas region.

The All-American duo of Ore and Withrow finished the season by advancing to the second round of the NCAA individual championships. The pair boasted a 15-9 mark in dual matches and finished as the No. 2 doubles pair in Texas.

The freshmen tandem of Adams and Vinsant led the team in doubles victories with a 17-9 mark. The duo was named an alternate to the NCAA individual championships and ranked as the No. 3 team in the Texas region.
