Boise State men’s tennis players Nathan Sereke and Thomas Tenreiro will participate in the prestigious Napa Valley Tennis Classic in St. Helena, Calif., this weekend after receiving a late invite on Monday. The duo will represent the Broncos against some of the top tennis programs in the country including Alabama, California, Florida State, Stanford, Texas A&M and Tulsa.
 
Sereke is one of two seniors on this year’s Bronco roster. The Stockholm, Sweden, native finished the 2013 spring campaign ranked eighth in the ITA Mountain Region after going 20-13. His career record at Boise State is 63-36 overall in singles and 56-36 in doubles.
 
Thomas Tenreiro is a sophomore from Miami, Florida. He enters the fall ranked 123rd-nationally by the ITA in singles. As a freshman in 2012-13 he went 24-3 in singles. During the spring dual season Tenreiro played primarily at the No. 5 position where he was 20-0, including finishing the year on a 19-match win streak.
 
The Napa Valley Tennis Classic is in its 13th year at Meadowood Resort in Napa Valley. The Classic was founded as a collaborative effort on the part of UC Berkely coach Peter Wright and Meadowood Tennis Pro Doug King to support the Cal tennis program and bring exciting, top-rate tennis to the Napa Valley.
 
The tournament includes 24 collegiate players and eight of the of the top USTA juniors in the country. In the singles competition the participants are divided up into eight groups of four (three college players and one junior) who will play a round robin, one match per day. They will also play two doubles matches in the tournament, one on Friday and one on Saturday.
