Boise State’s Nathan Sereke won his opening men’s tennis match at the Napa Valley Tennis Classic Friday afternoon in St. Helena, Calif. The senior defeated one of the top UTSA juniors in the country Lane Lechlesy in straight sets 7-6 (3), 6-3 in the first of three guaranteed matches in his round robin group. 
 
Sophomore Thomas Tenreiro lost a tough three-set match to Cal-Berkeley’s Andre Goransson 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. It was his first of the competition with two more left this weekend. 
 
After the two played their singles match the two Broncos teamed up for a doubles match against Cal’s Gregory Bayane and Nikhil Jayashankar. The Boise State duo defeated their opponents easily by a 8-2 margin.  
 
The Napa Valley Tennis Classic continues tomorrow and runs through Sunday at Meadowood Resort in the Napa Valley of California.
