ATLANTA-----Georgia junior Nathan Pasha won the singles title of the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over South Florida freshman Sasha Gozun Tuesday at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.

Pasha is the 11th Georgia player to win the ITA Regional crown, and in doing so he clinched an automatic berth to the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in New York Nov. 7-10.

“Nathan was very efficient today,” said head coach Manuel Diaz. “He played a very smart match and was in total control from the first game on. I’m proud of him. He’s making great progress and I’m glad he is now qualified for National Indoors. It will be great for him to compete in that elite field along with Austin Smith.”

Pasha, who did not lose a set in his six wins in Atlanta, is now 13-3 this fall with a pair of titles. He opened the season with six straight victories en route to the Southern Intercollegiates crown.

The Bulldogs will now take a three week break from competition. They will be back in action the weekend of Nov. 7-10. Georgia players not competing in the National Indoor Championships will play in the Bulldog Scramble Nov. 8-10 in Athens.
