MATCH 1: Montana State
- The season opener is this Thursday night when the Broncos host the Montana State Bobcats out of the Big Sky Conference at 6 p.m. (Mountain) in Boise State's Boas Indoor Tennis Center at 1507 S. Oakland Avenue in Boise.
-MSU is coached by former Boise State assistant Jared Burnham who is in his first season at Bozeman, Mont., following eight years as the head coach at Weber State (Ogden, Utah).
-Montana State is in the ITA Mountain Region along with the Broncos.
MATCH 2: No. 32 Northwestern
-Boise State will conclude the opening week of action Friday afternoon when the Broncos host nationally ranked No. 32 Northwestern Wildcats from the Big Ten Conference.
-The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Boise Racquet & Swim Club located at 1116 N. Cole Road in Boise.
-The Wildcats are led by freshman Sam Shropshire who enters the season ranked No. 114 nationally in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) after going 4-2 this past fall
-Strong Kirchheimer went 5-2 in the fall, while Mihir Kumar was 4-2.
BRONCOS NATIONALLY RANKED
Boise State opens the 2014 campaign where it left off last year ranked 46th nationally by the ITA in the most recent rankings (1/2/2014).
BETTLES NATIONALLY RANKED
Bronco senior Andy Bettles begins his final season at Boise State ranked 54th nationally in singles after going 11-3 last fall and 3-1 versus top-50 opponents.

DEFENDING MW CHAMPIONS
-Regular Season Champions: The Broncos are the defending regular-season Mountain West Conference co-champions after going 8-1 in league play during 2013.
-Tournament Champions: Boise State is the two-time defending Mountain West Tournament champion after defeating New Mexico 4-3 in last year's title match at Colorado Springs, Colo.
-NCAA Tournament Participant: Boise State advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2013 for the 16th time in school history and the eighth time in the last nine years. The Broncos fell 4-3 to No. 23 Clemson in the first round of the tournament at Knoxville, Tenn.
QUICK LOOK AT BOISE STATE
-The Record: This is Boise State's opening weekend. Last year the Broncos went 20-10 overall and 8-1 in conference.
-The Broncos at Home: Traditionally the Broncos are hard to beat at home in the Boas Tennis Center and at the Appleton Tennis Center. They went 10-1 in Boise during the 2012-13 season.
-Boise State Singles: The Broncos will feature one of its strongest lineups this spring with a solid mix of experience and youth. Look to seniors Andy Bettles and Nathan Sereke to lead the nine-member squad this spring playing on courts one and two, respectively.
-Regionally Ranked Singles: Boise State has four Broncos ranked in the top 20 in the ITA's Mountain Region led by Andy Bettles at No. 3, Thomas Tenreiro at No. 9, Garrett Patton No. 10 and Brendan McClain at No. 14.
-Boise State Doubles: Boise State has a solid selection of doubles teams in which to choose. Leading numerous potential teams is the duo of freshman Brendan McClain and junior Garrett Patton who went 7-3 as a team during the fall semester to earn them the No. 2 ranking in the ITA Mountain Region this spring.
-The Coach: Greg Patton is in his 18th season at Boise State where he is 380-145 all-time with an overall career mark of 731-338 in 32 years as a head coach. His Bronco teams have won 10 conference championships.
SELECT PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS
-Andy Bettles: The senior enters his final season ranked 54th nationally after a 11-3 fall campaign. The native of Somerset, England, is projected to play at the No. 1 position most of the year. He is 94-29 all-time in singles while at Boise State.
-Nathan Sereke: The native of Stockholm, Sweden, is the other senior who will lead the Broncos this season. Sereke is projected to play the No. 2 position for Boise State. After being slowed by injury in the fall when he went 0-2, the senior brings a 63-38 career singles mark into the spring.
-Thomas Tenreiro: The sophomore from Miami, Fla., could challenge Sereke for the No. 2 singles spot in the rotation, but he is expected to play the third position. Tenreiro finished the 2013 campaign with a 19-match win streak. This fall he went 6-3 overall to give him a Bronco career record of 30-6.
