Well it is time to shake it up with the big dawgs of tennis. Opportunity is not only knocking at the door for us, but is banging away. Our guys are going to get a taste of a tennis brawl of epic proportions.
We start off against #7 Baylor on Saturday, Jan. 25th at 11am (Boise time). I have seen two of their players in France representing their country Germany, and they are the real deal.
But, that is exactly what we want and need. I feel that the only way for us to rise in the national rankings and to get our players to believe in how great they are is to battle the front runners. I felt that our match with Northwestern and Montana State last week was exactly what we needed to get ready to play against the teams that we will be battling for a berth in the National Indoor Team Championships in Houston on Feb. 14.
After we play Baylor,we will either play #28 Auburn or #32 Drake on Sunday.
Being a former California surfer, I understand that a surfer always is searching for the big, powerful waves to find the elation of the challenge of the wave. Well this kick off tournament is exactly the excitement and challenge that our Broncos hunger for.
If we win on Saturday, we will play the winner of the Auburn vs. Drake match at 4pm on Sunday, Jan. 26th.
If we fall to the Baylor Bears, we will play the loser of the Auburn vs. Drake match at noon on Sunday. Times are Boise time.
