Boise State University Team Page

I think that the stars could align for us this weekend. So far so good as we prepare in Waco, TX for our first match in the Kick Off tournament against #7 Baylor.

Good news, is that the team practiced outdoors today (45% in Waco) after last night which had sleet and snow in the Waco area.

Our hit was fantastic, and we are chomping at the bit to play. This is heavy weight prize fighting for us. All of the teams are exceptional, #28 Auburn and #32 Drake are also playing, so it is such a wonderful opportunity to knock it up with these three great teams from across the nation.

Better good news, is that you can watch our match with Baylor at 11am (mountain time) on live streaming.  Click here or go to http://www.baylorbears.com/sports/m-tennis/livestats.html . The live streaming and live blog should be easy to access.

If we win, we will play in the finals on Sunday at 2pm (Mountain Time)  If we lose and are in the consolation match we will play at 2pm on Sunday (mountain time).

The following is some delicious tidbits about the tournament and our team.

LAST WEEK
Record: The Broncos split a pair of home matches last weekend to open the 2014 campaign.
Match 1: Boise State opened the campaign with a dominating 7-0 sweep over Montana State on Jan. 16.
Match 2: The Broncos stumbled a bit against then No. 32 ranked Northwestern last Friday (Jan. 17) when the Wildcats came to town and defeated Boise State 5-2.
Freshman Brendan McClain was the only Bronco to  win both singles matches last week defeating Montana State’s Matin Morillas 6-2, 6-2 at the number two position and Northwestern’s Alex Pasareanu 6-1, 6-4 on court five.

QUICK LOOK AT BOISE STATE
The Record: Boise State is 1-1 in Boise this spring after earning a split last week. Last year the Broncos went 20-10 overall and 8-1 in conference.

The Broncos at Home: Traditionally the Broncos are hard to beat at home in the Boas Tennis Center and at the Appleton Tennis Center. They went 10-1 in Boise during the 2012-13 season.

After defeating the Northwestern #1 doubles team last week, the Bronco tandem is now 8-2.
