The April 15th CTO/MDTA Division 1 Men’s Coaches Poll is out and the Oklahoma Sooners (21-2) remain at #1 for the 5th poll in a row. Last Friday Oklahoma picked up a huge win on the road at #2 Baylor but then got upset on Sunday by Texas Tech. Oklahoma hosts Oklahoma State this Sunday to close out the regular season and then next week they go back to Waco for the Big 12 Tournament.
POLL RESULTS: CTO/MDTA | ITA RANKINGS
Baylor (18-4) stays at #2 after defeating Oklahoma State which came on the heels of a tough 4-3 loss at home to #1 Oklahoma this past Friday. Baylor Is on the road tonight playing Texas and then on Saturday the Bears go to Lubbock to face Texas Tech. The following week Baylor will host the Big 12 Tournament.
Illinois (21-3) remains at #3 after beating Iowa and Nebraska last weekend. The Illini go on the road this weekend to face Minnesota and Wisconsin and the following week they’ll host the Big 10 Tournament.
Virginia (18-3) remains up to #4 after beating Georgia Tech and Louisville last weekend. Next up for Virginia is a road trip to Florida to face Miami and Florida State. The following week the Cavs head to Cary, NC for the ACC Tournament.
Georgia (19-3) jumps up to #5 after blanking Arkansas and Ole Miss last weekend. The Bulldogs are in College Station, TX this week for the SEC Tournament and will face the winner of the Tennessee/Alabama match on Friday.
TCU (19-6), Texas (18-3), Texas A&M (18-4), USC (19-4), and Duke (20-4) come in at 6-10. Wake Forest (17-6, Ohio State (21-7), Virginia Tech (17-3), Ole Miss (16-7), and North Carolina (17-9) are 11-15.
Vanderbilt (18-6), Florida (13-7), Texas Tech (18-6), Mississippi State (18-6), and UCLA (14-7) are 16-20.
Columbia (12-5), San Diego (19-4), South Florida (16-6), Stanford (15-4), and Tulsa (15-11) round out the final 5 spots.
Also receiving votes but not garnering enough to make this week’s Top 25 are LSU, Northwestern, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, and California.
