COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The 11th-ranked ranked Texas A&M men’s tennis team received its 20th-consecutive bid to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship as the Aggies were named one of 16 host schools for the first and second rounds of the tournament. The Maroon and White will take on Marist (17-3) in the NCAA first round while the University of Texas (16-8) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (16-7) will compete in the other first round contest.

First round matches in College Station will begin on Friday, May 10 with the Longhorns facing the Islanders at 11 a.m., followed by A&M and Marist at 2 p.m. The two winners will face off at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 to determine which team advances to the NCAA Championships in Urbana, Ill.

This marks the 21st-overall appearance for the men’s tennis team and the 20th-consecutive season for the Aggies to reach the NCAA Tournament. Last year, the Maroon and White traveled to Los Angeles where they advanced to the second round before falling to eventual national champion, USC.

The SEC Western Division champs are led by the 21st-ranked player in the country in sophomore Jeremy Efferding as well as the ninth-ranked doubles pair of Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow. The freshman duo of Harry Adams and Shane Vinsant came in at No. 29 in the most recent rankings while Vinsant (No. 84) and Adams (No. 100) also both cracked the top-100 in singles as well.
