 John Moreland

John Moreland begins his sixth season as a member of the Navy tennis coaching staff.

Moreland played collegiately at Washington College in Chestertown, Md., graduating from the school in 1996.  He also attained his Master's of Psychology degree from the school in 2004.

He began his collegiate coaching career as a volunteer coach at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. In 1998, Moreland returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach with both the men’s and women’s teams. In his two years at Washington, Moreland coached two singles and four doubles players who received All-America accolades. Moreland also coached two ITA Regional singles and doubles champs at Washington College. While at St. Mary's, coach Moreland had an ITA All Academic Team member along with a league rookie of the year.

Most recently, Moreland served as head coach of both the men’s and women’s tennis squads at St. Mary’s College.

Coach Moreland has spent time working as a camp instructor and teaching during the summers for the past 7 years.  He has worked at the Sea Colony Resort as well several other clubs.  Coach Moreland has previously been a part of the prestigous Mt Holyoke Nike Tournament Tough Tennis Camp for the during the summer. Additionally, he has worked as an instructor at the Navy Tennis Camp for the past 6 summers.
