Frank Chen
The Arizona senior steps off of the court and joins the coaching circle as the Undergrad Volunteer Asistant Coach for the 2012-2013 season.
2010-11: The Houli, Taiwan native made his Wildcat debut in singles and doubles action this season. Frank Chen tallied an overall 5-5 singles record and was 1-1 in dual matches played, including a Pac-10 match against Washington. He split matches against Washington and Boise State and competed in the Championships Singles Flight at the Pac-10 Championships. In doubles action, Chen finished 3-7, including a 3-2 record in the fall. He paired up with four different players in dual match action and teamed up with freshman Mario Urquidi in the Championship Doubles Flight at the Pac-10 Championships. The duo fell to the No. 1-seed of Bradley Klahn and Ryan Thacher of Stanford. Chen competed in two fall events where he compiled a 4-3 record.
2009-10: Competed in one fall event-the Pepperdine Fall Classic in Malibu, Calif. where he finished 0-3. He made his 2010 debut in the singles invitational flight at the Pacific-10 championships in Ojai, Calif., but fell to Oregon's Duncan MacDonald-Korth 5-7, 6-0, 6-1. In the fall, Chen competed with Jason Zafiros and Andres Carrasco in doubles competition at the Pepperdine Fall Classic.
High School: Attended Laurel Springs High School in Taiwan...Trained at Chien Kuo High School...Personal ranking; 562 in world juniors and 17 in Taiwan...Played double with Junior Wimbledon doubles winner.
