ATHENS-----The seventh-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team plays host to No. 27 Ole Miss Friday at 4 p.m. and Mississippi State Sunday at 1 p.m. to close out the regular season home schedule.
The Bulldogs (12-1, 6-0 SEC) carry a 10-match winning streak to the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. The Rebels (9-6, 2-4 SEC) went 1-1 last week, getting blanked by top-ranked Florida and then posted a 4-1 win over 34th-ranked South Carolina. Meanwhile Mississippi State (2-10, 0-6 SEC) went 0-2 against the Gators and Gamecocks. Georgia blanked 56th-ranked LSU and 12th-ranked Arkansas 7-0 in its last two matches.

Overall, freshman Maho Kowase leads the Bulldogs with a 26-7 singles record while senior Cameron Ellis is 24-4. In doubles, the ninth-ranked team of Chelsey Gullickson and Kate Fuller are 12-1 and have won nine in a row. Georgia has four players ranked in the latest ITA Top 125. Gullickson is No. 25 followed by Nadja Gilchrist (No. 70), Ellis (No. 87) and Kowase (No. 91). Also, the doubles team of Gilchrist and Kimbell is No. 50.
On Friday, the first 300 fans will receive Georgia Tennis keychains. Also, there will be a free tennis clinic after the doubles action. After the match, there will be a pizza social with the Bulldogs. On Sunday, a tennis clinic will be held prior to the match. It will begin at 12:50. There will also be a post-match pizza social with the team. On Sunday, Georgia will recognize its lone senior on the squad in All-SEC standout Cameron Ellis. She has helped Georgia to an NCAA Tennis Final Four appearance in 2009, one SEC title and two SEC Tournament crowns in her career. Ellis ranks sixth in school history with 213 combined wins.
