All-American Qualifying Event Delayed By Rain

PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF.---The final day of qualifying for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Wednesday has been delayed by rain.
Bulldog sophomore Maho Kowase needs one more win in the singles to advance to the main draw that is slated to begin Thursday. Kowase has won a pair of matches here to improve to 8-0 this fall. She is scheduled to play 25th-ranked Anna Bartenstein (Miami) around 9 p.m. ET if the courts are dry. All doubles have been cancelled Wednesday. Georgia's 20th-ranked Bulldog duo of of Kate Fuller and Lauren Herring were slated to play their second round match against Duke freshmen Beatrice Capra and Ester Goldfeld. They will attempt to play this match at noon Thursday ET.
Participants must win three matches in qualifying to advance to the main draw.
When main draw action begins Thursday, Georgia senior Chelsey Gullickson will face a qualifier in her first round match. Gullickson earned a spot in the main draw by virtue of her No. 15 ranking and past tournament results. In doubles, Gullickson and senior Nadja Gilchrist will play the Ole Miss tandem of Boxx/Guthrie. The Rebel team is ranked No. 19.
