Irving, Texas—Junior Madeleine Geibert and sophomore Patricia Veresova were named to the All-Big 12 Singles team on Wednesday. The selection marks Geibert’s third career singles accolade and her fourth honor overall (All-Big 12 Singles: 2009, 2010, 2011; All-Big 12 Doubles: 2010). Veresova earned her first career award with her selection.

Geibert had another excellent season with Nebraska in her junior year, compiling a singles record of 16-8, including a 13-4 mark at the No. 1 position. Her career mark currently rests at 47-23 in singles.

Veresova had an outstanding first season with NU after sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer rules. She quickly became a mainstay at the No. 2 position in the Nebraska lineup, picking up an overall record of 20-6 and a 16-3 mark in No. 2 singles.

Kansas State freshman Petra Niedermayerova garnered both Big 12 Player and Freshman of the Year accolades. Niedermayerova’s selection is only the second time in league history the same student-athlete has earned both distinctions. Sona Novakova of Baylor was named the league Newcomer of the Year, while Texas Tech Head Coach Todd Petty was awarded Coach of the Year honors.
