Sooners Finish Day Two at Invitational
NORMAN, Okla. -- The University of Oklahoma men's tennis freshman Leonard Stakhovsky went two-for-two as the Sooners competed at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas, Saturday, Oct. 27.
In the first round of singles, Nick Papac defeated Illinois's Alex Jesse 6-3, 7-5. Stakhovsky beat Texas A&M's Shane Vinsant 6-1, 6-4. John Harrison Warden lost to LSU's Boris Arias 2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2. Lawrence Formentera was forced to retire in his first match.
In the second round of singles, Stakhovsky defeated Illinois's Tim Kopinski 6-4, 6-4. Papac lost to Texas A&M's Shane Vinsant 6-4, 6-2. Warden fell to LSU's Harrison Kennedy 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.
The tournament concludes Sunday, Oct. 28.
