Oscar Machuca is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach but his second overall after spending last season as a volunteer for the Golden Eagles men's tennis program.

Prior to his appointment, Machuca recently completed his eligibility with the Golden Eagle tennis team where he was a four-year letterwinner. Over the course of his career, Machuca compiled a 50-42 overall record in singles, placing him in the top 15 all-time singles' matches won.

Machuca was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year, finishing with a 14-6 record overall including a 14-4 record during the spring season. He teamed with his brother Diego to form an outstanding doubles' duo. In 2008, the duo compiled a 20-13 record including a 9-3 record during fall tournament play.

The Cuenca, Ecuador, native was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's four straight years. He is an electronic engineering technology major with a minor in computer engineering technology and the son of Oscar Machuca and Ivonne Coronel.
