Texas’ Chris Camillone and David Holiner will make their first main draw appearance at a national championship event.
WHAT: Texas’ Chris Camillone and David Holiner will compete in the main doubles draw at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, one of three national championship events on the college tennis calendar. The duo qualified for the event last month when it defeated teammates Daniel Whitehead and Ben Chen in the finals of the ITA Texas Regional Championships.
The Horns are accustomed to solid doubles play at the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoors. Texas-Exes Ed Corrie and Jean Andersen reached the doubles semifinals last season, and former Longhorns Kellen Damico and Luis Diaz Barriga reached the doubles semifinals in 2007.
The remainder of the team is set to compete at the Southwest Shootout hosted by TCU.

Thursday, Nov. 3 through Sunday, Nov. 6; Camillone and Holiner are scheduled to take on Tennessee’s Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese in the opening round Thursday at 9 a.m. Eastern.

THE 2011-12 LONGHORNS: Texas returns six letterwinners from the 2010-11 squad that reached the round of 32 at the NCAA Championships and the semifinals of the Big 12 Championships.
Junior Daniel Whitehead ranks 59th in the ITA preseason rankings after posting a 27-9 overall singles record last season. Junior Ben Chen opens the season ranked No. 113 in the ITA singles rankings after totaling a 16-11 singles mark a season ago.
Sophomore David Holiner posted a 4-3 dual-match singles record last season, and classmate Sudanwa Sitaram registered a 16-9 overall record to go along with an 8-6 dual-match singles record.
