Stanford defeats Longhorns, 7-0
STANFORD, Calif. - No. 20 Stanford (8-2) took the doubles point and swept the six singles contests en route to a 7-0 victory over Texas (3-6) Sunday at the Cardinal's Taube Family Tennis Center.
The Cardinal posted wins at the second and first doubles slots to clinch the doubles point before completing the doubles sweep at the third slot.
Stanford posted straight-sets wins at the fourth, third and fifth singles positions to take a 4-0 lead and seal the victory. The Cardinal closed out the match with victories at the sixth, first and second singles positions.
Texas continues its three-match road swing on Tuesday, March 12 when it visits USC in Los Angeles. The Longhorns visit the University of San Diego on Wednesday before returning home to begin Big 12 Conference play on Friday against Oklahoma.
