Bulldogs Jump To No. 5 In ITA Rankings

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia men's tennis team jumped two spots to No. 5 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team poll released Tuesday afternoon, marking the Bulldogs' highest ranking of the 2012-13 season. Georgia was last No. 5 at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season after its run to the NCAA quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs are coming off a split weekend in the SEC road opener, falling 4-3 to No. 9 Ole Miss before topping No. 11 Mississippi State Sunday. Georgia now stands at 10-4 (2-1 SEC) on the season.

In the individual poll, senior KU Singh came in at No. 7, followed by sophomore Nathan Pasha - with a team-best 21 wins - at No. 39. Freshman Ben Wagland is ranked a career-high No. 71 while junior Hernus Pieters came in at No. 101 this week.

In doubles, the team of Pieters and Wagland are No. 5, while Pasha and Garrett Brasseaux are No. 39 and Singh and Pasha are No. 53.

Georgia has now been ranked in the ITA top-10 every week since March 29, 2011.

The Bulldogs are next in action this weekend when they return home to host Florida and South Carolina on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
