GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The Georgia men’s tennis team swept both the singles and doubles titles in this week’s Southeast leg of the ITA Summer Circuit in Gainesville, Fla.

Rising sophomore Austin Smith posted straight-set victories in five of his singles matches, including a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Florida State’s Dominic Cotrone on Monday in the final.

In doubles, Smith teamed with rising redshirt junior Eric Diaz for the title.

Nearly 30,000 men and women have competed in ITA Summer Circuit events since it began in 1993. The circuit provides college (and junior and alumni) players the opportunity to compete in organized events virtually year round. The circuit is comprised of nine regional circuits (Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Central, Mountain, Texas, Northern California and Southern California) consisting of four consecutive open tournaments played during the month of July, leading up to the USTA/ITA National Summer Championships in Bloomington, Ind., in August.
