GREENSBORO, N.C. – Dominic Inglot of Virginia has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for the third time this season after his unbeaten showing in two league matches last weekend.
Inglot helped lead the Cavaliers to a pair of conference wins, 6-1 over Clemson and 6-1 over Georgia Tech. Against the Yellow Jackets, the London, England, senior scored a 6-3, 6-2 victory over 12th-ranked Guillermo Gomez, the ACC highest ranked singles player. Inglot posted a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Clemson’s Carlos Alveraz at No. 1 singles. Inglot was also part of winning doubles teams in each match.
The Cavaliers’ wins extended their ACC winning streak to 36 matches (regular season and tournaments), dating back to 2006. Last week’s victories also secured Virginia’s seventh consecutive 20-win season.
