 Steve Reininger

Steve Reiniger enters his seventh season as head coach of the Villanova women’s tennis program in 2003-2004. Reininger and the Wildcats are looking to rebound from their 5-14 season one year ago. Reininger will have a talented group of veterans mixed with exciting newcomers to lead the upcoming campaign.

Reiniger began his Villanova career as an assistant for the Wildcat men’s and women’s tennis teams under Bob Batman in 1994. He graduated from West Chester University in 1994 with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy. At West Chester, Reiniger played four years of varsity tennis, reaching the conference finals in singles and doubles during his last two seasons. As a senior, he was named his team’s most valuable player.

Reiniger is U.S.P.T.A. certified and has seven years of teaching and coaching experience at a number of levels. He has taught at several different clubs in Pennsylvania, including a stint as the teaching pro and Director of Junior Development at Radley Run Country Club. Reiniger is presently the teaching pro at the Merion Cricket Club.

Reiniger resides in Phoenixville, Pa. with his wife, Beth, a Villanova alumnus, and their daughter, Rachel.
