 Kelly Blount
Kelly Blount enters her second season as the assistant tennis coach at Young Harris College.

Blount, a native of Augusta, Ga., graduated in 2008 at Mercer University with a bachelor’s degree in heathcare management and had a minor in chemistry. She played tennis all four years and was the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week twice. She was also a three-time selection on the Atlantic Sun Conference's All-Academic Team.

As a sophomore, she compiled a 10-7 record in singles play and 9-6 in doubles - both leading the team in victories. She followed that by going 3-5 in singles and 7-11 in doubles as a junior. As a senior, she was 13-7 in singles and 13-9 in doubles - both leading the team in wins.

After all four years at Mercer, Blount remained at the school to complete her master’s degree in business administration, earning MBA Student of the Year. During her first year, she served as an academic assistant with the athletics department and then was an assistant tennis coach at Mercer.

Blount also coached and taught tennis in Augusta and Macon, Ga., for the past eight years, developing junior tournament players.Prior to attending Mercer, Blount attended Lakeside High School in Evans, Ga. She earned varsity letters in tennis and softball. While in high school, she played competitive junior tennis on the state and southern level.
