ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan women's tennis coach Ronni Bernstein announced today (Thursday, Nov. 15) the signing of Sara Remynse (Richland, Mich./Gull Lake) to a National Letter of Intent to join the Wolverines for the 2013-14 academic year.

 
"We are really excited about the addition of Sara to our program," Bernstein said. "She is an in-state kid who I know will fit in well with our team. We are looking forward to working with her to help her reach the next level as a tennis player. She has always wanted to come to the University of Michigan and it is great that she has the opportunity to fulfill that dream."
 
Remynse is a five-star recruit, according to TennisRecruiting.net, comes in as the No. 31-ranked high school senior in the latest player rankings. She won the USTA Regional Tournament in Dayton, Ohio, this past summer, winning five of her six matches in straight sets. She most recently finished third at the USTA Regional Tournament in Kalamazoo.
 
Remynse was named the top player in her age group in the WMTA from 2008-10. She has played in the USTA 18U National Championship tournament in both 2011 and 2012. She joins sisters Maggie (Western Michigan) and Andrea (UCLA) as collegiate tennis players.
 
Michigan will lose senior Mimi Nguyen (Long Beach, Calif./Millikan) to graduation following the 2013 season.
