BERKELEY - California head coach Amanda Augustus and Boise State men's coach Gregg Patton will lead a team of U.S. collegians to play in the seventh annual Master'U BNP Paribas competition from Dec. 5-9 in Aix-en-Provence, France.

The United States, which defeated France to win both the 2009 and 2011 titles, will be competing for the fifth consecutive year against a field that includes Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Russia. The teams will compete in a best-of-seven format consisting of two men's and two women's singles matches, one men's and one women's doubles match and one mixed doubles match.

Now in her sixth year as head coach at her alma mater, Augustus heads a squad that includes Florida's Lauren Embree, Arizona State's Jacqueline Cako and USC's Zoe Scandalis on the women's side. Virginia's Jarmere Jenkins, Michigan's Evan King and USC's Ray Sarmiento will represent the U.S. on the men's side.

Embree - who lost to Cal's Zsofi Susanyi in the round of 16 in the recent USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships - won the ITA/Riviera All-American championship in October and is ranked sixth in the Campbell/ITA women's singles rankings. Cako is a two-time ITA All-American who is ranked 13, while Scandalis is ranked No. 7. All six players competed on the USTA Pro Circuit in 2012 as members of the USTA Collegiate Team, a high-level training program for top American collegiate tennis players.

Augustus previously coached a U.S. team in 2009, when she was one of four coaches chosen to lead the USTA Men's and Women's Summer Collegiate Teams.

Cal returns to action in the New Year when it competes in the Mauna Lai Invitational from Jan. 4-6 in Kona, Hawaii.
