CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The defending Ivy League champion Harvard men’s tennis team debuted at No. 28 in the first Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll of the 2013 season. Harvard is the highest ranked Ivy League school in the poll, with Columbia being the next closest at No. 44.

The Crimson closed the 2012 season at No. 24 in the ITA poll, after clinching the Ivy League title and winning a first-round match in the NCAA tournament. Harvard compiled an impressive 23-3 record in 2012, featuring a 6-1 mark in Ancient Eight play. With its 29th league title in hand, Harvard took down Virginia Tech in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, before bowing out to 12th-ranked Florida on its home courts. Two team members, Jonathan Pearlman and Denis Nguyen, received All-Ivy League accolades at the conclusion of the season.
