INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - Virginia alumnus Treat Huey (Class of 2008) has reached a doubles quarterfinal of an ATP Masters 1000 series event for the first time in his career. Huey, who is teaming with Polish standout Jerzy Janowicz, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, considered the fifth biggest tournament of the year behind the Grand Slams.

Huey and Janowicz are teaming for the first time in their careers. Huey is currently ranked No. 36 in the world in doubles, while Janowicz is No. 24 in the world in singles.

The duo opened the tournament with a 6-4, 6-4 first round win over Frank Moser and Victor Hanescu. In the second round they topped US Open Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Andy Murray and his brother, Jamie, 6-3, 7-5. They will play James Blake and Mardy Fish in the quarterfinals.
