COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The 12th-ranked Texas A&M men’s tennis team travels to Athens to take on the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on Sunday at noon (CT). Texas A&M enters the contest at 13-9 and 4-3 in the Southeastern Conference while the Bulldogs come in with a 14-4 record and a 6-1 mark in conference action.

“At this point in the season, Georgia is the team to beat in the SEC,” Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton said. “While other teams have been beating up on each other, Georgia has managed to stay virtually unscathed with only one loss in conference. Coming back to Athens brings back some great memories from my college days and Coach McKinley won the NCAA team championship while playing for Trinity. Our whole team is very excited to begin our rivalry with Coach Diaz and his Georgia team. It’s always a great college tennis atmosphere and we look forward to the challenge.”
The Aggies are led in singles by 93rd-ranked freshman Shane Vinsant who also holds a 14-5 record on the spring. The Keller, Texas, native holds a 11-5 mark from the No. 4 line and earned his 20th-collegiate win with his victory on Friday at Tennessee.
Following Vinsant is 40th-ranked Jeremy Efferding with a 13-6 mark, including a 5-2 mark in Southeastern Conference play. The sophomore and boasts a 4-2 mark from the No. 1 singles line.
Harry Adams holds a 12-6 mark on the spring. The freshman enters the contest with a record of 9-3 from the No. 3 singles line.
Also in the double-digit win-column is sophomore Jordan Szabo with a 10-8 record including a 3-2 mark in conference action. The Australian is 4-4 from the No. 6 singles line and would earn his 30th-collegiate victory with a win Sunday afternoon.
Rounding out the projected singles lineup for Texas A&M is 118th-ranked Jackson Withrow (7-5, 2-1 SEC), Behzad Minavi (8-2, 3-2 SEC) and Junior Ore (7-11, 3-3 SEC).
Texas A&M is led in doubles by the 25th-ranked duo of Adams and Vinsant who boast a 13-4 mark, including a perfect 6-0 record in conference action. Following the pair of freshman is the 11th-ranked tandem of Ore and Withrow who hold a 12-5 record with all 12 wins coming from the top doubles line. The pair also includes a 4-2 mark in SEC play. Rounding out the projected doubles lineup for the Maroon and White is the pair of Efferding and Szabo with a 9-7 record.
Georgia enters the contest as winners of nine of their last ten matches and ranked third in the most recent ITA National Rankings. Leading the Bulldogs in singles is 11th-ranked Ku Singh with a 13-7 mark. Following Singh is 53rd-ranked Nathan Pasha with a 7-8 record on the spring. No. 64 Ben Wagland enters the matchup with an 11-4 mark. UGA boasts two ranked doubles tandems in sixth-ranked Wagland and Hernus Pieters as well as the 41st-ranked duo of Pasha and Garrett Brasseaux.
