INDIANAPOLIS - The Boise State men's tennis team will face Clemson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, May 10 in Knoxville, Tenn., it was announced Tuesday.
 
The Broncos (20-9) earned automatic entrance into the tournament with a thrilling 4-3 win against New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference Championship.
 
Clemson (18-7) received an at-large bid after losing in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament against Virginia, 4-0. The Tigers were ranked 26th in the latest ITA Rankings. Andy Bettles will likely face Yannick Maden at the No. 1 spot, who is ranked 23rd in the nation in singles and partners with his brother, Dominique, to form the 11th-ranked doubles team in the country.
 
It will be the 16th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history and the eighth in the last nine years, missing only the 2011 draw.
 
The Broncos fell to Florida State in the first round last year, 4-3.
 
If Boise State wins its opening-round match, it will face the winner of No. 7 Tennessee vs. South Carolina State, Saturday, May 11.
