Bears Earn Rankings in Final ITA Polls

BERKELEY - Four Golden Bears claimed singles rankings and two California teams earned doubles rankings in the final ITA women's tennis polls of the season, the governing body of college tennis announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore Zsofi Susanyi and junior Anett Schutting finished 9-10 in the singles poll to lead the way for the Bears. A pair of freshmen earned rankings as well, as Klara Fabikova is No. 30 and Lynn Chi is No. 57 in the singles poll. Three of the four competed in the NCAA Singles Championship. While the eighth-seeded Schutting fell in the round of 64, the fifth-seeded Susanyi reached the round of 16 and Fabikova got as far as the round of 32.

In doubles, the team of Chi and Schutting finished the season with a No. 29 ranking, while the duo of Susanyi and Fabikova ended the year at No. 42.

As a team, Cal - which garnered a final ITA ranking of ninth - reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships.
