Fresh off her sophomore season campaign in which she finished the year ranked No. 24 in the nation in singles and No. 49 in doubles, USC's Zoë Scandalis powered her way to an ITF title this past week in Mexico at the $10,000 Quintana Roo.

Paired up with fellow American Macall Harkins and playing on the ITF Pro Circuit as an amateur, Scandalis fought through two decisive wins in the opening rounds to reach the semifinals. There, the U.S. pair clashed with another American duo in Alda/Shankle, which Scandalis and Harkins dispatched with a strong 7-6 (50, 6-4 win to reach the final. Seeded No. 2 in the draw, Harkins and Scandalis faced No. 3 seeds Bosio/Gonzalez in the title match and pulled out the championship win with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory.

In singles, Scandalis worked her way into the quarterfinals after upsetting the No. 6 seeded Victoria Bosio of Argentina with a three-set victory in the second round. Scandalis would fall to the top seed in the quarters before teaming back up with Harkins for their winning doubles run.
