BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Emily Zabor, partnered with Auburn's Emily Flickinger, finished as runner-ups in doubles at the 2013 ITA/USTA National Summer Championships, which were held on the Indiana University campus.
The duo, ranked as a 5-8 seed in the 32-team draw, won 8-5, 8-4, and 8-6 in their first three matches before meeting up with top-seeded Jackie Kasler and Jen Pfeifler of Auburn in the semifinals. Zabor and Flickinger would knock off the Tigers, 8-4, earning a trip to the finals against Georgia Tech's Megan Kurey and Kendal Woodard.
In the finals, Kurey and Woodard jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but Zabor and Flickinger would come back to win the next four straight. The Yellow Jackets held on, however, winning the three games in a row to take the match.
