ATHENS, Ga.--Four members of the Georgia women's tennis team earned spots in the 2013 Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason singles and doubles rankings, released by the organization Friday.

Junior Lauren Herring and senior Maho Kowase headlined the Bulldog contingent at the No. 3 and No 14 spots, respectively. Last season, Herring finished with a 38-7 mark and an NCAA Quarterfinals appearance. Kowase went 38-10, including a perfect 12-0 during conference play.

Sophomore Silvia Garcia came in at No 60 and senior Kate Fuller fell in at No. 101. Garcia went 24-4 and was named to the SEC's All-Freshman team. Fuller went 31-8 and was 7-2 in her final ten matches of the year.

In doubles, the Bulldog duo of Fuller and Garcia is ranked No. 2, while the tandem of Herring and Kowase is ranked No. 50. Fuller and Garcia, who held the top doubles ranking for most of the year, compiled a 26-4 record, and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs are the only SEC program with a singles player ranked in the Top 15, and the only SEC team with multiple singles players ranked in the Top 35. In doubles, Fuller and Garcia are the top-ranked SEC duo, and one of only three conference pairs ranked in the Top 15.

The first team rankings will be released in January.

The Bulldogs will make their fall debut at the Bulldog Classic on Sept. 20-22 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
