LOS ANGELES - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently released its preseason rankings for the upcoming 2013-14 season and as expected, a large number of UCLA women's players will begin the year with national rankings.

The Bruins have five players ranked in singles led by junior Robin Anderson, who is the nation's second-ranked player. She ended last season listed at No. 4 nationally in singles, advancing to the round of 16 in the NCAA singles draw. Also ranked in the top 20 for UCLA is sophomore Kyle McPhillips at No. 11. McPhillips is the reigning Pac-12 singles champion, ending last year ranked No. 17 in the country. Also ranked in singles for UCLA to start the year are Catherine Harrison (#63), Kaitlin Ray (#79) and Chanelle Van Nguyen (#80).

The Bruins have three teams ranked in doubles led by Anderson and newcomer Jennifer Brady at No. 20. Anderson reached the NCAA doubles final last year with teammate Skylar Morton. Courtney Dolehide and Van Nguyen check in at No. 45, followed by Harrison and McPhillips at No. 57.

Brady, who was the team's top recruit heading into the season, is listed at No. 5 in singles in the ITA's Freshman/Newcomer Rankings.

UCLA's first event of the season will be the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships, held at the nearby Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. The Bruins will be hosting the prequalifying portion of that event, Sept. 28-29, at UCLA.
