SEATTLE - A pair of UO men's doubles teams remained perfect at the Nordstrom Open, advancing to the semifinals of the open event in Seattle. The two teams improved to 3-0 on the weekend while sophomore Daan Maasland continued to shine in his fall debut.

Maasland defeated two seeded opponents Sunday, improving to 4-0 at the event after returning from an injury. He defeated ninth-seeded Jeffrey Hawke 7-6, 5-7, 6-3 in the round of 16 in his first three set match of the fall. In the quarterfinals, Maasland won in straight sets over fifth-seeded Mitch Stewart 6-4, 6-3.

Maasland will meet top-seeded Scoville Jenkins, a former ATP pro who was once ranked as high as No. 187 in singles, in the semifinals. Last season, Maasland provided one of the best freshman seasons in UO history, winning 23 singles matches and 20 doubles matches.

Oregon improved to 6-0 in doubles at the event, winning a pair of quarterfinal matches against seeded opponents. Oregon's fifth-seeded Daniel Sardu and Brint Chin upset fourth-seeded Scoville Jenkins and Jesse Walter 8-7. Third-seeded Maasland and freshman Jayson Amosteamed to defeat fifth-seeded Viktor Farkas and Wendell Wantanabe 8-6.

Chin and Sardu will meet top-seeded Jeffrey Hawke and Max Manthou in the semifinals, while Maasland and Amos will meet fifth-seeded Marton Bots and Reid Delaubenfels. Oregon has improved to 17-8 on the fall season in doubles plays.

Sardu and Amos both had their main draw singles runs come to an end in the round of 16. Sardu won three matches while Amos won four to reach the fourth round of the event.

The final day of action from the Nordstrom Tennis Center will begin at 11 a.m. (PT) Monday with the singles semifinals. The singles finals match will be played at 2 p.m., while the doubles semifinals and finals will be played at 5 and 6:30 p.m.

Oregon is in pursuit of its third and fourth main draw flight titles of the fall season.
