The University of East London (UEL), England, is seeking to recruit male and female tennis players as undergraduate or postgraduate scholars for the 2014/15 academic year. Having hosted the US Olympic team during London 2012 and located 15 minutes from the Olympic Park, UEL aims to become one of the best Universities for sport in the UK, and number 1 in London.
The Tennis programme is funded by the Lawn Tennis Association and Tennis Foundation, with sessions coached by ex-professional player Andrew Foster. The University of East London is linked with
WimX, an East London based tennis academy which provide a performance tennis package for aspiring professionals.
Our attractive sport scholarship programme provides financial support through a reduction in tuition fees of up to £8,500 depending on playing standard with US players also able to access the US federal aid loan system. Student-athletes benefit from a full programme of on-court coached squads, team tennis matches, support at professional events, sports science, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and academic flexibility. The programme is ideally suited to support athletes wishing to either improve their current world ranking or to gain their first ranking points.
UEL has 7 schools of study, and details of all the current courses can be accessed at www.uel.ac.uk/study
This is a competitive application process and scholarships are awarded to the strongest candidates first. The number of awards is limited and unsuccessful applicants will be notified.
