WHAT'S HAPPENING
  • The Boise State Broncos (9-14, 2-2 MW) hit the road this weekend for a pair of Mountain West Conference matches at Nevada and at Fresno State.
  • This is the final road trip of the regular season for Boise State which will close the season at home next weekend followed by the Mountain West Championship in Albuquerque, N.M., April 22-26. 
THE NEVADA MATCH
  • The weekend opens on Friday afternoon in Reno, Nev., where the Broncos will take on the Nevada Wolf Pack at the Caughlin Club at 1 p.m. (Mountain). 
  • Nevada enters the week at 7-12 overall and 1-3 in league matches.
  • The Wolf Pack are coming in off a pair of road defeats last weekend at No. 75 UNLV (L 4-3) and at No. 37 San Diego State (L 5-1).
  • Nevada is led by Moez Charqui who plays No. 1 singles where he is 8-8 with a 16-11 overall mark on the year ... Andrew Poustie plays on court two for the Wolf Pack where he is 9-7 in duals with an overall record of 16-12.
THE FRESNO STATE MATCH
  • The weekend will conclude in Fresno, Calif., where Boise State will face rival Fresno State at noon (Mountain) on Sunday at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center on campus.
  • Fresno State enters the week at 13-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play. 
  • The Bulldogs have split their last four contests including a 4-1 defeat at Stanford on Tuesday ... they did earn a road split last weekend falling at No. 37 San Diego State (L 6-1) before regrouping to win at No. 75 UNLV (W 4-1). 
  • Five different players have played at No. 1 singles and six have seen time at No. 2 singles this season ... Euan McIntosh has seen the most time on court one going 3-4 with a 10-7 overall record. 
NEXT UP FOR BOISE STATE
  • The Broncos will close the regular season next weekend at home when Boise State welcomes Utah State and instate-rival Idaho to the Appleton Tennis Center.
  • It will be Garrett Patton's final home matches of his career with a "Senior Day" ceremony preceding the Idaho match at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

  • The Broncos are currently 9-14 overall and 2-2 in league play entering the weekend.

  • Boise State is led by senior Garrett Patton who plays No. 1 singles for the Broncos ... Patton has won 11 of his last 14 singles matches and is now a team-best 18-9 on the year.
  • Junior Thomas Tenreiro has been the primary No. 2 singles player during duals going 7-4 on that court this spring ... Tenreiro is 13-16 overall in singles on the year. In doubles the tandem of Tenreiro and Lewis Roskilly has led the Broncos going 13-5 overall with a 4-4 mark on court one and 9-1 record on court two.
REPRESENTING THE BRONCOS
RECENTLY FOR BOISE STATE
  • Boise State wrapped up a nine-match homestand this past weekend going 2-1 in three matches. 
  • The Broncos opened with a 4-1 loss to No. 42 New Mexico on Friday. Garrett Patton picked up Boise State's lone point on court one when he defeated the 61st-ranked player in the nation. 
  • Boise State then recorded a Easter Sunday sweep with a pair of shutouts over Lewis-Clark State (W 7-0) and Air Force (W 7-0).
  • Patton finished the weekend 5-1 overall going 3-0 in singles, he also went 2-1 in doubles with Abe Hewko.
END OF SEASON TENNIS BANQUET
  • The 2015 Men's and Women's Tennis Banquet will be held Friday, May 1, at 6 p.m. in the Stueckle Sky Center.

TOUGH COMPETITION
  • It is a Boise State tradition not to shy away from a tough schedule, 2015 has not been any different with 14 of the 28 matches coming against teams currently ranked nationally by the ITA.
  • Opponents in ITA Top-75: No. 19 South Florida, No. 23 Texas Tech, No. 26 Northwestern, No. 35 Harvard, No. 36 Stanford, No. 37 San Diego State, No. 40 Pepperdine (twice), No. 45 New Mexico, No. 49 Cal Poly, No. 52 Auburn, No. 56 Oregon, No. 65 UC Santa Barbara, No. 66 Utah State and No. 75 UNLV.
  • Boise State is one of six Mountain West members who have been ranked at some point this year: New Mexico, San Diego State, Nevada, Utah State and UNLV.
  • In all, Boise State will face 18 teams who have been ranked this season.
COACH PATTON
  • Greg Patton is in his 19th season as head coach at Boise State where he is 417-164 overall in team duals, his career mark is 768-357 in 35 years.
  • His 768 career wins makes him the winningest active coach in the NCAA. 
DEFENDING MW CHAMPIONS
  • League Champions: Boise State is the three-time defending Mountain West Tournament champion and is undefeated in the event since joining the league for the 2011-12 season.
  • NCAA Tournament Participant: Boise State advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2014 for the 17th time in school history and the ninth time in the last nine years.
