MIDLAND, Texas (9/18/2015) - Lewis Roskilly split a pair of singles matches on the opening day of the season at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas, to lead the four Broncos competing in two competitions on Friday.

Roskilly, a sophomore from Stevenage, England, opened with a tough three-set loss 6-7, 6-3, 6-0 to TCU’s Reese Stadler in the round of 32. He then regrouped to claim the lone Boise State victory of the day in the singles back draw defeating Pratt Keerasuntonpong from San Diego 6-2, 6-2. He will meet Dylan McClesky of Tulsa on Saturday.

Brian Foley is with Roskilly in Midland where he lost a pair of battles on Friday. The breaks just did not go his way as he lost a tight three-set affair 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 to Texas A&M’s Kevin Lam. He then moved into the back draw where he won the opening set before falling in a third-set 10-point tie breaker 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (12-10) to Julio Olaya from Southern Methodist.

Foley and Roskilly’s match versus TCU’s Greg Anderson and Reece Stalder was suspended at 8-8 (6-5) with a rain delay and will be completed Saturday morning.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (9/18/2015) - Toby Mitchell and Kyle Butters opened their campaigns in San Francisco at the Battle in the Bay Classic where they both fell in their opening round singles matches.

However, they did combine to win 8-5 over San Francisco’s Ryan Marker and Vasco Valverde in doubles to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday. They will face Cal’s duo of Andre Goransson and Florian Lakat in the next round.

Mitchell took on Cal’s Filip Bergevi falling in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 32. He will now move into Saturday’s back draw where he faces Lautaro Pane from Pepperdine.

Kyle Butters faced Southern Cal’s Jake Devin in the round of 64 falling in two 6-4, 6-2. The Freshman will now work his way through the back draw beginning Saturday morning against San Francisco’s Ryan Marker.
