The Drake men's tennis team defended their MVC title with a 4-2 victory over Wichita State on Sunday in Omaha, Nebraska at the MVC Championships.  With the win, Drake has now won their 22nd match in a row and moves their season record to 23-2.  The hero of the day for Drake was MVC Freshman of the Year Bokang Setshogo.  Setshogo captured the decisive point for Drake with a thrilling three set victory over Albert Ballesta at the #5 singles position.  The Bulldogs also got victories by Sergi Vila, Dalibor Pavic, and Ivan Mendoza to win the title.  Drake will now await their fate to see where and who they will play in the NCAA tournament.  Head Coach Chase Hodges comments:

"This has been another incredible year for our program.  We feel great about defending our title and our excited to have the opportunity to compete at the NCAA's.  We beat a very good Wichita State team and our guys played like true champions today."

Hodges was also named the MVC Coach of the Year while Maor Zirkin was named the MVC Player of the Year for 2007.  Other awards were as follows:
