COSTA MESA, CA --- The March 10 NAIA Top 25 ratings may look a bit different, after No. 9 Concordia upset No. 6 Vanguard with a 5-4 victory thanks to some deep play by the 4-5-6 spots in the Eagles' lineup in GSAC competition Tuesday.

Concordia improves to 3-2 on the season, including a 2-1 mark in Golden State Athletic Conference competition, as the trio of Oliver Fabre, Tom Yong and Bruno Santarelli notched singles victories to clinch the win for the Eagles.

Vanguard falls to 4-1, including 3-1 in GSAC play, with the loss.

After the Eagles went 1-2 in doubles play, thanks to an 8-6 victory from the tandem of Young and Ryan MacNamara, Vanguard went ahead by a 4-2 margin heading to the final three matchups.

However, Fabre notched a 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Sandro Bucher that was the first of three consecutive victories to secure the win. Young followed suit with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Thomas Frank, and Santarelli downed Nils Iwdal by a 6-2, 6-2 margin.

Augusto Elias also picked up a victory in straight sets over Fredric Sandberg from the No. 2 position.

Concordia next plays at Hope International Saturday (Feb. 28) starting at 2 p.m. in GSAC play.
