OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Oct. 3, 2010) – NYIT women’s tennis faced a tough 8-1 loss to Molloy Sunday afternoon. The Bears’ lone point was earned by senior Alexis Beaumont in the No. 4 singles match.
A native of North Babylon, N.Y., Beaumont defeated Alexandra Bonventure 6-4, 6-4. The Bears also won a set in the No. 5 singles match. Sophomore Kelly Duarte, after losing the first set 6-1, came back to take the second set 6-2 but ultimately fell in the third set 6-2.
The Bears return to action on Monday, Oct. 4 against the Golden Lions of Dowling. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the NYIT Tennis Complex.
